The role of a Responder

As a Community First Responder our role is quite simple:

• • To arrive within 8 minutes of receiving a call

  • To take charge of the scene prior to the arrival of the Ambulance or Doctor

  • Prolong life

  • Prevent any conditioning worsening

  • Promote recovery

  • Provide support, not only for the patient, but also family and friends at the scene

  • Handover effectively to the Ambulance crew, with as much detail and clarity as possible
