Queen's Award

Manningtree Community First Responders are proud to be the recipients of the highest award the Queen can bestow on volunteers which is the Queen's Award for Voluntary Services, a group equivalent to the Medal of the British Empire, the MBE. This is especially important because it is awarded in the 2012 Jubilee year.

'To be rewarded by the Queen's honour is considered to be the most prestigious award an individual or group can receive and can prove to be a reputation changing experience. It is the formal recognition at the highest level for the work and achievements of the group and provides and enhanced profile and reputation for the members together with increased awareness of the work the group has undertaken.'

Lord Petre, the Lord Lieutenant of Essex, presented the crystal award together with a certificate signed by the Queen. The citation on the certificate reads:

Manningtree Community First Responders: providing support for life threatening emergencies to the local community and East of England Ambulance Service.

Also to celebrate the 2012 Queen's Jubilee, Emergency Services medals were presented to all Community First Responders who had completed 5 years service. Eight members of Manningtree First Responders were awarded for their dedication to the service.
